AFP: Iran reports 112 swine flu deaths since mid-Nov

A swine flu outbreak in Iran has killed 112 people since mid-November and the country's first medical worker has died of the virus, state media said on Monday.
"About 1,190 people have been diagnosed with the (H1N1) virus and hospitalized" and "the death toll has reached 112", the state news agency IRNA quoted Mohammad Mehdi Gouya, an official in the regime's health ministry, as saying.

U.S. says it is considering response to Iran regime’s ballistic missile test

The Obama administration is considering how to respond to a ballistic missile launch by the Iranian regime that violated U.N. Security Council resolutions, senior U.S. officials said on Thursday, as senators pressed for a strong reaction.
"We are now actively considering the appropriate consequences to that launch in October," Stephen Mull, the U.S. State Department's lead coordinator for implementing an international nuclear deal with Iran's regime, told a Senate committee hearing, Reuters reported.
Almost every Republican U.S. lawmaker, as well as several of President Barack Obama's fellow Democrats, opposed the nuclear agreement announced in July, under which Iran's regime has said it would curtail its nuclear program in exchange for relief from economic sanctions.

On Thursday, December 17, 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution strongly condemning the brutal and systematic violation of human rights in Iran, in particular the mass and arbitrary executions, increasing violence and discrimination against women and ethnic and religious minorities. This is the 62nd UN resolution condemning rights abuses by the clerical regime.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, welcomed the resolution and said: "Mounting violations of human rights in Iran and condemnations of the clerical regime by the highest international body for consecutive years through the past three decades vividly indicates that this regime has no place in the international community and should be rejected by the international community. The murderers of the Iranian people, whose bleak record includes the execution of 120,000 political prisoners and seven massacres in Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty must be held accountable by the UN Security Council and be brought to justice for crimes against humanity. This is the only way to respect the vote of the majority of countries against human rights abuses in Iran over the past 30 years, especially in light of the fact that most of the current leaders of the regime have held key positions in the past 35 years and have taken part in crimes against humanity.”

Iran: Nargess Mohammadi granted honorary citizenship of Belgium

Political prisoner Nargess Mohammadei was announced an honorary citizen of Belgium in Riksansart.
Her husband, Taghi Rahmani, along with an Iranian jurist, Hassan Farashtian, attended the ceremony for the International Human Rights Day on December 16, 2015, and presented Ms. Mohammadi’s case.
Upon the request of Amnesty International - Belgium, the city of Riksansart granted the honorary citizenship of Belgium to Nargess Mohammadi who is going to be tried on December 31.

The massacre in San Bernardino opened another chapter in the history of U.S. mass shootings in an ominous but different way. Similar to the recent terrorist attack in Paris, the brutal massacre of innocent civilians in California highlighted again evils of Islamic extremism but this time, here in the United States.

The attack revealed that the U.S. is not immune from the rise of Islamic fundamentalism and that Americans, along with the rest of the world, must quickly but dynamically address this global threat. Deterrence and an increase in the cost to terrorists (and their sponsors) are valuable assets but the ultimate answer is active engagement with the moderate, both Muslim and otherwise.

Iran regime fails once again to cover up Soleimani’s serious injuries

NCRI – The state-run Fars News Agency reported on Wednesday that Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Iranian regime’s terrorist Quds Force, last week “met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and senior military and security officials during a three day visit” to Russia in which he followed up on issues that had been discussed in the November meeting between the Russian President and Ali Khamenei, the regime’s Supreme Leader.
The news agency which is affiliated to the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) cited “unofficial sources” and claimed that President Putin had called Soleimani “My friend Qassem.”

Iran regime executes young man in public

NCRI – Iran’s fundamentalist regime on Monday, December 14, hanged a 20-year-old man in public in the city of Noshahr, northern Iran.
The man, only identified by the initials M. Kh., was hanged at dawn, according to the regime’s prosecutor’s office in Noshahr.
The young man was only 18 at the time when he alleged committed his crime.

On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, December 10, cross-party MPs from both Houses of Parliament held a conference in the House of Commons discussing the state of human rights and the current political situation in Iran, the region as well as a recent terrorist attack on Camp Liberty.
Speakers at the conference that was chaired by co-Chairman of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom (BPCIF), Lord Carlile of Berriew QC, included: Rt Hon. Germany approves anti-ISIS military action in Syria

Molotov cocktail hurled at a Cairo nightclub kills 16 people, Egyptian interior ministry says.
Al Jazeera - 04 Dec 2015 - At least 16 people were killed in a firebomb attack on a nightclub near Cairo after an argument broke out between employees and revelers seeking to enter.
'Disagreements between staff at the nightclub and others caused [the latter] to throw Molotov cocktails at the door,' the interior ministry said in a statement on its Facebook page on Friday.

Iran: Jobless men humiliated if women are employed –Isfahan’s top mullah

“Hundreds of men are unemployed in Iran and yet some people are insisting on employing women in important executive positions like governors, etc.”
This was declared by Yousef Tabatabaii Nejad, Friday Prayer leader of Isfahan in his sermon on December 4.
Two weeks ago, he also called for prohibition of women’s employment in “shops, offices and companies”. He said, “It is not right for women to be employed while men are unemployed. Men are humiliated if they have to get money from their wives.”

At the end of last month, the Iranian dissident community at Camp Liberty, Iraq, was struck by a barrage of rockets, which killed at least 24 people. The former U.S. military base, near Baghdad's International Airport, has served as a Transit Transfer Location for members of Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) since 2011, when they were relocated there from their self-built community of Camp Ashraf. Their resettlement was attanged by the UNHCR under an agreement between the Iraqi government and the UN, endorsed and backed by the United States.
